From 18 to 21 August 2025, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) of Taiwan was invited by the Asia Pacific Forum (APF) to attend the “Torture Prevention for NHRIs 2025 Workshop” in Bangkok, Thailand.
The workshop, co-organized by the APF and the Association for the Prevention of Torture (APT) with the support of the Taiwan Foundation for Democracy, aimed to strengthen networks among human rights institutions, enhance knowledge, and explore strategic approaches to torture prevention.
Participants included national human rights institutions from Indonesia, the Maldives, Malaysia, New Zealand, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, and Timor-Leste. Through mutual exchange of experiences, the workshop fostered dialogue and cooperation across the region.
