The 3rd “Color Our Rights: Human Rights Poster Design Competition” is now open for entries! This competition will be open to entries from students at the high school level or above in the Student category and anyone over 18 in the General category until September 6, 2024. Designers from across the world are invited to join us in showing our concern for human rights!
Article 1 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights proclaims at the outset: “All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights.” However, in recent years, such an optimistic vision of human rights has been subject to unprecedented threats; racism, social conflict, and international conflict are ever-present challenges. Thus, ensuring sufficient education on human rights requires our joint contribution to the cause.
The “Color Our Rights: 2024 Human Rights Poster Design Competition” hosted by the National Human Rights Commission will focus this year on “equality and non-discrimination.” Creators from Taiwan and the wider international community are invited to participate in social observation, design materials collection, and poster creation. Throughout the design process, participants will gradually be able to put human rights theories into practice, thereby increasing awareness of human rights issues among the greater public.
This year, the competition will be divided into Student and General categories. In each group, the prizes are as follows: Gold (1 winner) wins NT$200,000; Silver (2 winners) wins NT$150,000; Bronze (3 winners) wins NT$100,000; Honorable Mention (20 winners) wins NT$20,000; and the Online Popularity Award (1 winner) wins NT$30,000.
The winning entries (unranked) are expected to be announced on the official 2024 Human Rights Poster Design Competition website in November of this year, when the “Human Rights Begins with You! Vote for Your Favorite Poster and Win a Prize!” event will begin. During this event, everybody will be welcome to view the posters, complete a questionnaire, and share insights. Furthermore, by completing the questionnaire and voting for the most moving human rights poster design, you will be entered into a draw with the chance to win a limited number of exclusive prizes from the National Human Rights Commission!
The Awards Ceremony is expected to be held in December this year, when the award winners will be officially announced. We welcome designers from all walks of life to show off their human rights posters to the world!
