Vibrant and Diverse “Road to Equality: 2024 Human Rights Reading Exhibition” to Open in Kaohsiung on July 9th

Join us on the road to equality and play a role in shaping the future of human rights! Tomorrow, July 9th, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) will unveil the "Road to Equality: 2024 Human Rights Reading Exhibition." This one-of-a-kind event merges the realms of human rights, art, and interactive experiences, presenting award-winning human rights poster designs from 2022-2023, a curated selection of literature focused on human rights, and a variety of engaging activities such as film screenings, guided tours, and entertaining mini-games. The exhibition will take place at the Kaohsiung Main Public Library from July 9th to September 8th, before relocating to the National Taiwan Library in New Taipei City from September 24th to November 24th.

Attendees will have the opportunity to explore award-winning posters and literature that emphasize the significance of personal freedoms and the need for equality among all communities. As our society progresses and technology evolves, it becomes increasingly important to acknowledge the barriers and discrimination that persist in our daily lives, as well as the instances where human dignity is compromised. The aim is to encourage visitors to contemplate human rights from different perspectives and stimulate innovative thinking.

In addition to static displays, the exhibition will offer dynamic experiences. Films such as "Nine Shots," "The Other Shore," and "The River in Front of My House" will delve into human rights issues through compelling visual storytelling. A "Human Rights Historical Site Tours" will guide participants through locations that hold deep significance in Taiwan’s human rights history. Interactive mini-games, including interactive, a human rights timeline wheel, and a scratch-card game, will make learning about human rights engaging and fun, with opportunities to win special prizes.

Additionally, the 2024 “Color Our Rights” Poster Design Competition will be held in conjunction with the event. The competition is open to creative minds until September 6th, inviting designers to use their talent to raise awareness about human rights and contribute to a more just and equitable society.
